You're My Favorite Song actor Marco Masa shared his preparations for his role in the series alongside fellow former housemates from Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0; Caprice Cayetano, Heath Jornales, and Clifford, during their story conference held last Tuesday, May 12.

In his exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Marco shared that he is rigorously preparing for his role. He mentioned that he is focusing more on self-improvement.

Although he started as a child star, he admitted that he is ready to take on more mature roles without turning his back on his roots and the achievements that brought him to where he is today.

“Honestly, I've been working on myself. Hindi ko inaaalis 'yung [pagka-child star] sa pagkatao ko, hindi ko inaaalis 'yun sa mga bagay na na-achieve ko. But for me, it's to shift for more mature roles, and I'm just really happy na naging part ako nitong You're My Favorite Song,” Marco said.

The Kapuso star further revealed that he has started a fitness regimen, marking a step in his preparation for his career path he envisions as an actor.

“In line with that, siyempre, may mga bagay din ako na inaayos sa sarili ko like gym. I started going to the gym. 'Yun talaga, in preparation talaga sa ideal path ko as an actor,” he shared.

Marco highlighted his extensive experience across different genres while emphasizing his openness to more challenging roles moving forward.

While he is set to bring back the “kilig” factor, the actor also teased that he is adding a new flavor to his performance this time around.

“Well, honestly, I've tried a lot of genres na. I did horror movies before. I did 'yung mga pa-kilig. Hopefully in the future, mas ma-open ko pa 'yung sarili ko to more opportunities, to more roles kasi ako, acting has really been my passion ever since,” said Marco.

“So now na magpapakilig ako, I'm gonna do it the same way, pero with a little bit of spice ng bago sa akin para lang may laging bago na makikita 'yung viewers sa akin,” he continued.

Marco also hinted that his latest character in You're My Favorite Song will be a significant departure from who he is in real life.

As he continues to refine his approach to the role, the Kapuso actor promised fans that they can look forward to seeing a completely different side of him on screen.

“'Yun side ko rito, it's really different sa totoo kong personality. So, it's something new na dapat ding abangan ng mga tao kasi right here sa role ko. I'm trying to visualize pa 'yung magiging atake ko sa role ko. But it is definitely gonna be something new,” Marco shared.
